May For the second time, Al Kamandjâti concentrated all its energy on the activities with the Palestinians living outside their homeland in southern Lebanon. Last year, the first mission lasted only few days: indeed, the journey was shortened with the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister, Mr. Rafic Hariri. So Al Kamandjâti decided to stop its activities during the three days of national mourning before keeping going, by crossing Syria and Jordan, in order to meet up with other Palestinian refugees, those of the West Bank. December - On December 14th 2006 in Ramallah, Al Kamandjâti was awarded one of the ten 2006 Prince Claus grants for its activities involving Palestinian children living in refugee camps and villages in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and in southern Lebanon. The prize will enable the Association to create further spaces for education and artistic creation in Palestine. It will be used especially to develop its outreach programme, as the Association is now starting to teach music in Jenin.
